MANUFACTURE Jules DESFOSSE "Le Vieux Pont" created in 1862. Suite of five strips, block printed in sepia, late 19th or early 20th century. Dimensions of one strip: 260 x 47.5 cm (height can be cut to approx. 200 cm). Panel width: 237.5 cm. Good overall condition, despite small scattered stains and a few tears. SOURCE: Notes by E.A. FAUCONNIER on Desfossé and old DK wallpaper 1935/1936 "this grisaille décor was to consist of twenty-four strips, but only five were engraved; they were found in a cellar in 1894. (...) It sold very well in England and the United States, N°3816".
