This book features 15 familiar pieces and 4 humorous ones, illustrated with 20 original black lithographs by Pierre Bonnard - one of which adorns the cover, while the others introduce each score. Particularly sought-after, this book marks a major milestone in Bonnard's career, as it was the very first work he illustrated. The artist, Claude Terrasse's brother-in-law, deploys a style that is both poetic and intimate, already announcing the genius that would characterize his later work. The edition was printed in a small number, with no exact number of copies known. Excellently preserved copy, bound by Alix. Some scattered, light brown spots.
