PHILIPPE (Jean-Loup) - MIHULEAC (Wanda). - Lot 149
PHILIPPE (Jean-Loup) - MIHULEAC (Wanda). La Papillonesque. Paris : Les éditions Transignum, [2010]. - In-8, 236 x 150 : (10 FF.), printed cover. In sheets, under a double cover adorned with butterflies glued to the first cover, Plexiglas slipcase. A magnificent artist's book featuring the original edition of the poem La Papillonesque, presented in a bilingual version: original French text and English translation by Patrick Williamson. The book was designed by Romanian painter and sculptor Wanda MIHULEAC (b. 1946). Printed entirely on handmade Lokta paper, it comprises five quires of two leaves each, with the first leaf deliberately torn along one edge. At the heart of each booklet is a surreal composition printed in color on plastic paper, cut out in the shape of a butterfly. Five butterflies, also printed on plastic, adorn the cover, adding a tactile and poetic dimension to the whole. Limited edition of 16 copies preserved in a Plexiglas box, signed by the author and artist on the justification (no. 2).
