Height: 9cm NICOLE & MICHEL ANASSE (1937-2012) & (1935-2020) Nicole and Michel Anasse met in 1955, at a time when Michel, trained in drawing, ceramics and metal, and nourished by decisive encounters, was already establishing himself as a multidisciplinary creator. Attracted by the effervescence of Vallauris's golden age, they moved there in 1956 and founded the Issarts studio, a place where four-handed work was born and which became a hotbed of artistic exchange. From 1973, the couple settled in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence region, developing an increasingly monumental body of work, combining ceramics, stone, wood and iron, and taking on major public commissions. After Nicole's death in 2012, Michel continued his work before settling in Avignon in 2016.
