LES ARGONAUTES - FRÉDÉRIQUE BOURGUET (1925-1997) (FRANÇOISE BOURGUET, DITE) AND ISABELLE FERLAY (1917-2009) Behind Les Argonautes are Frédérique Bourguet and Isabelle Ferlay, two Beaux-Arts-trained ceramists based in Vallauris. Their work, always characterized by formal purity, quality modeling and the use of light glazes, ranges from the red clay objects of the early days, to zoomorphic or mythological creations, to the stoneware works of the 1970s.
