ODILE DEVAUCHELLE (BORN 1943) - Lot 72
ODILE DEVAUCHELLE (BORN 1943) Table lamp. Stoneware. Signed O. DEVAUCHELLE under the base. Height: 19cm - Diameter: 28cm Provenance: Galerie Marie et François, Saint-Ouen: Galerie Marie et François, Saint-Ouen. ODILE DEVAUCHELLE (B. 1943) Born in 1943, Odile Devauchelle opened a studio in Saint-Savin-sur-Gartempe, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. Here, she developed a little-known but resolutely modern body of work, creating pieces with simple shapes but complex, highly constructed structures, made using traditional shaping and firing techniques. Her lighting fixtures are a perfect illustration of her research into volumes, architecture and light.
