SOLANGE GAROTTE (1950-1987) After studying art history in Tours, Solange Garotte trained at the École des Beaux-Arts de Bourges in the studio of Jean and Jacqueline Lerat. She settles in La Borne, where she works in stoneware and porcelain alongside her husband, Bernard Prigent. Their experiments with porcelain led to the design of models for Virebent - as did other La Borne figures such as Yves Mohy. At the same time, Solange Garotte continued her reflections on volumes and textures through her work in stoneware - until her tragic death at the age of 37.
