THE 2 POTTERS (STUDIO ACTIVE FROM 1956 TO 1970) - MICHELLE BARGOIN & JACQUES SERRE (B. 1936) & (1934-2016)
Jacques Serre and Michelle Bargoin, united in both life and creation, formed the duo "Les 2 Potiers" in 1955. Together, they developed a unique ceramic language, characterized by muted hues, matt glazes and rubbing. Their production, initially utilitarian and furniture pieces, evolved into monumental works in glazed lava. Their reputation grew in the 1960s through exhibitions, collaboration with Roche Bobois and major architectural projects. However, the couple's separation in 1970 put an end to this joint artistic adventure - and signature.
