ANDRÉ ROZAY (1913-1991) Celebrated as one of the pioneers of the ceramic revival, André Rozay was, along with Jean Lerat, one of the first to settle in La Borne during the Second World War. Trained in drawing and ceramics, he perfected local stoneware and wood-fired techniques, working for Bedu before taking over Alphonse Talbot's workshop in 1958. With his wife Lulu, he developed a body of work strongly rooted in figuration, combining bestiary and symbols - which evolved increasingly towards purity. A major contributor to the village's reputation, he was involved in the creation of potters' associations and the founding of the Musée de la Poterie de La Borne.
