JEAN-PIERRE VIOT (BORN 1936)
Trained at the Beaux-Arts in Rouen, Jean-Pierre Viot soon turned to the art of pottery at the Gien faience factory. A multi-skilled, multi-disciplinary artist, his approach to ceramics bears witness to his own research into contemporary art, aimed at exploring lines, colors, surfaces, spaces and volumes. His creations unfold in space, revealing a strong constructivist dimension. In his works, both large and small, the material expresses itself without detours.
