André MASSON (1896-1987). Original pencil drawing, with autograph dedication signed; 27.5x23cm sight (framed). Portrait of General Édouard Corniglion-Molinier (1898-1963). [Fighter pilot during the 14-18 war, journalist, producer and filmmaker, Corniglion-Molinier accompanied André Malraux on his search for the Kingdom of Saba, and during the Spanish war, for the filming of Espoir. A Resistance fighter, he joined the Free French Air Force. An air force general, he was a senator, deputy and minister]. Under the general's head in profile, André Masson inscribed this dedication: "to my dear friend Ed. Corniglion-Molinier André Masson". On the back, Masson wrote a few lines: "Mon cher Edouard Retrouvé ton effigie dans un carton oublié. I don't think it's a bad 'study'. So I'm sending it to you. Best regards, best regards André".
