Claude DEBUSSY (1862-1918). P.S. "ClADebussy", Paris March 1 - Lot 369
Claude DEBUSSY (1862-1918). P.S. "ClADebussy", Paris March 14, 1891; 1page small in-4 partly printed, tax stamp (small tear at bottom without loss of text). Treaty with music publishers MM. de Choudens Fils, to whom M. "A. Cl. Debussy compositeur de musique demeurant à Paris rue de Berlin n° 27" sells, for the sum of one hundred francs, ownership of two works (for piano): "1° Rêverie 2° Mazurka". A note signed Choudens specifies that the set has been "retroceded to M. Hartmann". Correspondence, 1891-5. Attached is a treaty between publishers Hamelle and Fromont (who signed), June 22, 1907, by which Hamelle cedes to Fromont two melodies by Debussy on poems by Verlaine (L'échelonnement des haies and Le son du cor s'afflige), as well as the Mazurka for piano, in exchange for two melodies by Gabriel Fauré on poems by Verlaine (Soir and Prison).
