Melody on a poem by Jean de Chamerlat: "Pourquoi cet émoi dont mon âme rêve"... In G in 2/8, it bears the indication (in red pencil, like two other movement indications) Molto animato. It is written in violet ink on 12 lines of oblong paper, and ends with this letter: "A Monsieur le marquis de Montlaur Hommage respectueux de Ch. d'Ivry 15 juin 1916".
Attached is a copy of a Berceuse à 2 voix by Charles Lecocq (1907).
