Léon HENNIQUE (1851-1935). 18 autograph manuscripts (sometim - Lot 434
Léon HENNIQUE (1851-1935). 18 autograph manuscripts (sometimes initials) of poems, 1872 and n.d.; approx. 55 pages small in-4 (approx. 21x16cm), preserved in a notebook (uncropped). On the boards, Hennique has noted bibliographical references and a list of titles (Les Clameurs seems a general title; the others must be poem titles: Fleurs de boulevard, Coquetterie de la terre, etc.). Pour la patrie! (to my friend Georges Godde) and Enamorado dated "15 Août 72" seem the earliest (from the same period, two sheets of a plan for a tragedy Régulus or La Patrie en danger). Entre cocus appeared in the 19th-century satirical Parnasse (Kistemaeckers 1881). Poems written on the same yellow card stock (plus two poem endings whose beginnings are missing) seem to come from the same series: Les deux Jean, Les joueurs d'orgue, Tableau d'histoire (en double), L'erreur, Au cabaret, Dans la vallée, Pochade, La mouche (en double), Conclusion. Finally, Pour la Denise, Le retour du prodigue (published in L'Artiste in 1878), Dans la ruelle de Cydalise, Jardin magique. These poems, unpublished in volume, sometimes appeared in magazines (clippings enclosed).
