An XIII model cavalry saber. - Lot 71
An XIII model cavalry saber. Leather-covered handle with brass filigree. Hallmarked brass mounting, four-prong guard with three bolts (accident to a prong detached from the plate). Straight, double-sided blade stamped B and M under a star, with flat back engraved "Mfture Imple du Klingenthal Coulaux Frères", point in the extension of the back (slightly off-center but not corresponding to the 1816 modification). Iron scabbard with two bracelets and worn symmetrical stinger (see photo). Original red cloth tie. Presented with squared leather cord lanyard (broken), braided loop and tassel in white and red wool passementerie. Length: 115 cm A.B.E. (oxidation on the scabbard)
