TALBOT, H. W. B.
Topographical map of Meekatharra. Perth, Geological Survey of Western Australia, 1911. 980 x 470 mm. Large lithographed map. Numerous tears, as is.
Topographical map of Meekatharra. H.W.B Talbot, assistant field geologist; A. Gibb Maitland, government geologist; R.H. Irwin, del. H.J. Pether, government lithographer. Cardboard: "Locality Plan".
Topographic field map showing the Meekatharra area, Western Australia, in the Murchison gold mining region. It probably served as the cartographic and scientific basis for the geological and mining analysis of the Meekatharra area, an important historical goldfield (Paddy's Flat, Bluebird deposits). It also shows the boundaries of the mining leases, the gold mining zones and the main mining sites. The topographic and geological surveys were carried out as part of the Geological Survey of Western Australia's work to document and supervise mining activity.
