The engravings in these Hours are based on models by Jean Pichore. They are skilfully enhanced and painted to give the illusion of an illuminated manuscript by an artist active in Germain Hardouyn's workshop. An "illuminator and historian", Jean Pichore was once considered a native of Rouen, and is attested in Paris from 1502 to 1520. He was a versatile artist, producing both manuscripts and printed books of hours. He was himself a printer for a time (Hours in 1504 in collaboration with Rémy de Laistre).
Colophon(sig. O8): "Tout pour le mieulx.
