PARIS CIRCA 1840 - 1850 A silver teapot known as "à côtes de melon", characteristic of the Louis-Philippe style, using plated/doubled models in this pivotal period of competition with electrolytic silver plating developed by Christofle in 1842. Marine ivory stops. Engraved with two Gothic letters on one of the ribs. Minerve hallmark Goldsmith: VEYRAT & fils, in full, inscribed in 1840, crossed out in 1849.
