A sarcophagus chest of drawers in engraved brass marquetry on a brown tortoiseshell base, with a flowing form, decorated with foliage scrolls and flowers, the top in Campan grand mélange marble resting on curved uprights with busts of winged victories, resting on claw feet and snail feet.
After the commodes by André-Charles Boulle delivered to the Grand Trianon around 1708.

Among the most emblematic pieces of 18th-century furniture, the two commodes for Louis XIV's bedroom at the Grand Trianon were delivered in 1708 and 1709 and have remained in the national collections ever since. Two commodes also by Zwiener were presented for sale in Paris, Sotheby's, on December 11, 2024, lot 125. A similar commode, also by Zwiener, is illustrated in Mestdagh (op. cit.).
