The relationship between Grenoble cabinetmaker François Mondon (1687-1742) and his Parisian namesake (1694-1770) is unknown, but the great stylistic similarities of this chest of drawers with Grenoble cabinetmaking in general, and with Thomas Hache (1664-1747) in particular, as well as with the production of Parisian cabinetmaker François Mondon, constitute a further element in the rapprochement between the two cabinetmakers, particularly with regard to their reciprocal influences.
