ITALIAN COMEDY. P.S. by 8 members of the committee, June 15, 1788; 1 page in-fol. (stamped in Monge coll. ink). Having seen the talented debut of Madame Crétu, the Committee nevertheless observes "the enormous expenses with which the Comédie is burdened", and "the quantity of subjects with which it is charged", listing the eight "singing lovers", from Mme Dugazon to Mme Saint-Aubin; it suggests "letting De Crétu leave for Bordeaux where she is in demand as she has no need of her at the moment, under the condition that the Comédie Italienne will give her preference over all others when she can employ her talents". Signed: Chenard, Courcelle, Dorsonville, Favart, Menier, Michu, Philippe and Rosière.
