Cosima WAGNER (1837-1930). L.A.S., Bayreuth August 5, 1893, - Lot 50

Cosima WAGNER (1837-1930). L.A.S., Bayreuth August 5, 1893, to Georges Servières in Paris; 1page in-8, envelope. She returns his manuscript to him without having read it: "on the point of leaving Bayreuth for several months such a quantity of obligations accumulates around me that I can only say my apologies to you in haste"... [This is probably Servières' book Tannhæuser à l'Opéra in 1861, which was published in 1895]. Attached is a P.A.S. from Siegfried Wagner, New York February 21, 1924 (souvenir of meeting Willem Mengelberg), and a signed photograph of Wieland Wagner (with Anja Silja, G. Nedlinger, Eug. Tobin and Fr. Linke, at the Fliegende Holländer in Stuttgart in 1961).
