Very fine proof on laid paper, of the 1st state (of 3), before further work and before cutting the copper, signed in pencil. Vertical tear of 30mm and a freckle in the lower margin. Light moisture aureole in the lower left-hand part of the folio, without affecting the signature. Full margins. Very rare. Edition of 4 proofs.
