Henry de Groux (1866-1930) ... Quand les bourgeois dorment dans leurs lits... (Subject inspired by Léon Bloy, Sueur de sang). 1893. Lithograph. 205x170mm. Cat. La Plume 50. Fine proof on chine appliqué, titled below the subject in pen and ink, then dedicated "A Monsieur Allioli / Bien cordialement" and signed. Scattered foxing. Short creases and slight oxidation to the edges of the folio. Full margins. Mr. Alioli was a collector of the artist's works. In particular, he owned a painting entitled Fête galante (L'œuvre de Henry de Groux, Paris, La Plume, 1899, p. 94).
