Jean-Baptiste SAY (1767–1832). Letter from the author, Paris - Lot 118
Jean-Baptiste SAY (1767–1832). Letter from the author, Paris, November 9, 1826, to Charles-Guillaume Étienne, man of letters; 1½ pages, small quarto; address with a red wax seal bearing his monogram (broken).
Regarding the Works of Joseph Droz, which have just been published. Say, having been unable to find his correspondent—who was attending the meeting of the Talma Monument Committee—has deposited copies at *Le Constitutionnel*. He has “very compelling reasons that lead me to wish that this work by a friend be announced immediately […] I earnestly beg you to slip in this announcement—the simple announcement I left with the book—in the issue the day after tomorrow, if at all possible. I shall be as grateful for this as I am for everything you have already done for me”…
