Decree signed as “Director and Member” of the Odéon, January 6, 1816. A curious decree, consisting of two articles, concerning “Ladies, both members and residents,” requiring them to appear “at the end of the opening Prologue for as long as it remains in the repertoire, under penalty of a special fine” to be “strictly collected by the treasurer,” and this “to ensure, out of respect for the author of the Prologue and for himself, what was to be considered a duty.” May 11, 1824, Letter from the Author to Loignon, at the Théâtre de l’Odéon, regarding the manuscript of *L’Écolier d’Oxford*, which had been misplaced after its reading to the Committee.
