Sword of the 2nd company of Mousquetaire "black" of the King's House, model 1814. Silver plated brass frame. Handle covered in shagreen with filigree. Short straight cap. Guard (type of battle) with four branches and round shell, decorated with the cross of the Musketeers with flowers and flames on a radiating background, supported by fleurons. Quillon chiselled with a fleur-de-lys, stamped "B", as well as the guard and the cap. Straight blade, flat back, engraved "Manufre Rle du Klingenthal novembre 1814", countered and double-edged. Leather scabbard with three trimmings, punched, with two studs and two re-silvered brass rings. A.B.E. Created on June 15, 1814, this company, called "black" because of the dress of their horses, will touch these swords in 1815 only a few months before their dissolution on September 1, 1815.
