Camille SAINT-SAËNS (1835-1921). L.A.S., 14, rue Monsieur-le - Lot 63
Camille SAINT-SAËNS (1835-1921). L.A.S., 14, rue Monsieur-le-Prince 14 April 1885, to a lady; 3 pages in-8 at her address and Ars Gallica sticker. "It is obvious that Bach is protecting you and no less obvious that he does not want me - the ungrateful one! The performance is officially announced for Monday and I am leaving tomorrow, urgently requested", and if an indisposition could postpone the performance at the last moment, "it would be useless, for I could not accompany these beautiful things without repeating them. Resign yourself, Guilmant will be better off than I am. Very upset not to be able to chat with the author of this beautiful work on Bach "...
