OWEN (John). Ionnis Owen oxoniensis Angli Epigramata. Editio postrema. Amsterdam : Johannes Janssonius, 1634. - In-24, 102 x 50 : 191 pp. Havana morocco, boards decorated with a repeating pattern of alternating azure lozenges and gilt small irons, framed with gilt fillets and scroll, smooth spine decorated, gilt edges (period binding). New and beautiful small edition of the epigrams of the English Protestant poet John Owen (1560?-1622), in which he attacks notably the Roman Church. It is illustrated with a beautiful engraved title. A very nice copy in a strictly contemporary binding, very nicely decorated. An almost identical binding was offered in the sale of the Michel Wittock collection on November 8, 2004 under number 59 .
