DALI (Salvador). Les Métamorphoses érotiques. Selected drawings executed from 1940 to 1968. S.l. A l'Érotitiade, [1969]. - In-folio, 323 x 252: 60 pp, (2 ff.), 10 plates. Leaves, red cloth folder and publisher's slipcase. First edition, printed in an edition of 300 copies plus a few copies hors commerce, entirely illustrated by Salvador DALI with erotic compositions based on illustrations taken from two manuals of object lessons published at the end of the 19th century and from the "Catalogue of the great exhibition of the works of industry of all nations" published in London in 1851. "These illustrations were transformed by Salvador Dali over a period of almost thirty years; the first of these metamorphoses were executed in 1942, in New York." There are over thirty illustrations in the text or on full pages, including 4 with a laminated figure offering a reproduction of the original old drawing, and 10 plates. Of these 10 plates, 3 include laminated illustrations: 2 with a reproduction of the original state of the illustration and a second metamorphosis, and one with the state before the metamorphosis. One of 270 copies on Rives vellum, signed by Dali, this being one of 150 numbered from 151 to 300. A very well preserved copy, but without the cover. Spine of slipcase slightly faded.
