Léonce ÉLIE DE BEAUMONT (1798-1874) geologist. 9 L.A.S., 184 - Lot 165
Léonce ÉLIE DE BEAUMONT (1798-1874) geologist. 9 L.A.S., 1847-1874, to M. Sédillot; 11pages in-8 (mostly mourning). About his lectures at the Collège de France. He sends the program of his lectures (1847), worries about reports to be delivered to the Collège de France (1855), gives instructions for the geological map of France to be sent to the Ministry of Public Works: "this map, colored with great care, pasted on paper and mounted on a roll, needs to be handled with care. It would be good if [...] it were carried on the shoulder as it will have been from the Mines to rue St Dominique" (October 22, 1872). He thanks Sédillot for his efforts, asks about the printing of his notes, a list of candidates (July 2, 1873), the poster for the course of which Sainte-Claire Deville, on a trip to Constantine, has been informed: "it would be good if a letter containing some details of his trip were to arrive in Paris" (December 2, 1873), etc. Attached is a L.A.S. to a colleague (January 30, 1844) about the purchase of the Brochant de Villiers collection (1p. in-4).
