Michel-Bruno BELLANGER (Rouen 1726 - 1793) Cut flowers in a glass on an entablature Canvas Inscribed lower left "Van Spa... 1779" 46 x 38 cm Bears an inventory number on the reverse of the frame in white paint "2713" and a number "110" on the reverse of the stretcher. The attribution was communicated by Michel Faré to the owner. A native of Rouen, Michel-Bruno Bellengé (or Bellanger) was introduced by Chardin to the Académie de Peinture and was accepted in 1762, becoming a member in 1764. He supplied models for the Savonnerie carpets.
