Console table in wrought and polished iron, gilded sheet metal and turquoise-blue marble, with openwork decoration of palmettes, scrolls and foliage, the cambered uprights with pearls, spheres, baluster and scroll joined by a strut surmounted by a palmette with openwork ovals. Louis XV period. H. 84.5cm, W. 120cm, D. 65cm Provenance: London London sale, Sotheby's, May 6, 2008, lot 211. Generally produced in Provence in the mid-18th century, a famous example of this type of console table made entirely of metal is now in the Frick Collection in New York.
