FRANCE Painted enamel medallion decorated with an allegory of the Republic holding a shield marked in gold "règne de la loi" with a blue enamel border decorated with a frieze of flowers. Presented in a later pompom medallion decorated with ribbon and foliage. Mother-of-pearl reverse. 67 x 38 mm E.M. (chips and restorations). Revolutionary period. Provenance: Bernard Franck sale fourth sale April 1935, number 287 then Tasbille collection December 1938, number 274. The Tasbille collection catalog is included.
